Doubts and Discoveries

Doc shapeshifted off his shirt so half the mass of the eufiber was in his hands and he still wore the other half. As he worked he said, "Eufiber is basically a shapeshifting plant. If you attune it, then it gains your own immunity to your own powers. Amazingly useful... and the one guy who can create the original stuff was never born here, so I'll have to give you mine. Of course that's not an acceptable solution either so it's time for some editing."

The eufiber separate from Doc was formless and colorless, like grey silly putty. The tendril connecting the glob to what remained of his suit got smaller and smaller.

Doc said, "OK, now grab this ball and just drop it on yourself."

{Assuming TW does so, Doc will drop two points of willpower and as much juice as he needs to heal both sides back up to their original condition.}

Well I guess what I meant was, does anyone plan on sticking around town until the party? I will assume if you do, you will get lodging, etc.

(Before) Doc enjoyed Tigerwasp's embrace a little too much. He'd had previous experience with other uber-attractive supers, it was one of the reasons he let himself be so old... and it didn't help. He matched to choke out afterwards, "Any time."

(Down time) Lacking better options, Doc arranges to acquire lodging then contacts his office and arrange to 'service' some clients in the local area during their brief down time.

Armor sets to work with the philosopher's stone, transmuting whatever found metal he can get his hands on -- tin cans, scrap iron, anything -- into solid silver. {OOC: figure 15 dice actions per minute, 60 minutes per hour -- 900 tries per hour? Don't know how many hours we have, or what OV/EV his AV/EV is up against, but I'm guessing he should whip up plenty of the stuff with time left over to play weaponsmith.}

Having left the offices of Agent Heller and acquired a few rooms from a generous patron of John's, the team finds themselves with some downtime for a day at least. A room is acquired by mid-afternoon on the the 27th and the friends enjoy a nice dinner together before retiring to separate rooms in a "Winchester-Holmes" hotel. This place is on par with what they all remember a Ritz Carlton to have been. Oddly enough, the Ritz is not in existence here. The service is exquisite and the personel are professional and friendly, especially once the recognize Armor. The hotel chain was in a slump a few years ago in key cities like Edge City, Metropolis, Midway City and others. Winchester Holmes was not able to compete with local chains when it came to conventions like the Tech Expo and the SCIEX days. Armor made a few calls, did several clever advertising campaigns and since then their booking are nearly 100% during those same conventions, and they did not have to lower their rates much.

Each room has its own computer connected to the Op-net and Tri-Vids are common to every room. Dinner is on them for the 2 nights booked and they are more than pleased to accommodate all of Lucy's transportation needs to local shopping and dining.

Armor is able to manufacture enough silver bullet rounds for a few diferent types of fire arms to last for a rather long fire-fight. After the third round of creating, Armor does however note that the carpet under his bench or table he was working on has started growing grass and clovers in very small concentrations. This is quickly cleaned up for further manufacturing; there is no sign of previous seeds or soil but after another round of conversions there is more grass and clover.

Chronos is able to fill the morning of the 28th with 3 clients that take him away for a few hours. As Ia m also certain, Southern Cross is not simply sitting on his laurels. Scanning the Op-net for signs of his previous life, he does stumble on the site of an old contact that acted as a handler for him in a few Op's a few years ago.

Crumble in tow, Chronos left to 'service' his 'clients'. Three customers. Five people counting spouses. A million dollars a year.

It wasn't about the money, that was just a side effect. A way to deal with these people without arousing their suspicion. A way to convince them he was working for them and not the other way around. He'd have done this for them for nothing. Money was just a useful tool. Chronos was about power. He'd picked his clients because they'd have good effects on society long term. They were powerful... and now they were beholden to Doc. That was power too. Power he'd likely never use, but it was still there.

His abilities weren't addicting, but life and youth were and his clients were long term thinkers. In twenty years, each of them would be twenty years older, and twenty or forty million dollars was cheap.

Assuming supers were still around and they were on good terms with Doc. Assuming the world hadn't destroyed itself. Assuming lots of things his clients were actively working against hadn't happened.

The day was filled with shopping, planning and for the most part, anticipating which way to go from here. The team had only been here for 4 days now and seemed to be thrust unknowingly and ill prepared into a global conspiracy and fight for the right to rule. They had readied themselves with ammunition specifically made to bring harm to the shifters, in particular the were-wolves, or Garou. It was said that these creatures held ultimate sway over the world and its advancements and not all of this was done in humanity’s best interest. Information so far had supported both sides and the only thing tilting the team more or less in favor of humanity was the fact that humanity never had a choice. So here they were, arriving at a gathering, supposedly planned and agreed upon by both sides, in which a small cross-section of the two sides could voice their concerns. But would The Council of Gaea admit to the claims and enter into a debate? Or was this something else?

It was due to officially start at 8:00 pm, about 30 minutes after dark in this part of the world but the team, Armor, Chronos, Southern Cross, and Tiger Wasp decided on arriving a little early to scope things out. Suspicions of a fight were brewing and none of them were willing to walk headlong into it unprepared.

At about 7:15pm, just before they were set to depart to Hellers Office, the team is alerted to a news broadcast. A special tactics team of Garou Guardians has fallen out of communication and local human media intercepted a radio transmission stating this. A new copter was dispatched only to fall out of the sky about a mile away from the area and now the only reliable communication out of the area is word of mouth. Anyone planning on taking the interstate south through that part of the city is advised to route around the zone as all through streets have been cut off by Guardians and human Police. City lights are reflecting off of smoke from a large fire coming from the area. Ambulances and rescue personel are enroute with police escorts.

Please post if you will go to the area, and if so, are costumes on? What form of travel do you take? Chronos is the only non-flight worthy hero and the the slowest flyer (wasp) can be at the area by pushing it over the 35 miles in about 20 minutes. I need to know any last minute preparations to this possible coincidental activity to the ‘debate.’

Southern Cross is eager to get into action.Getting into costume,he will fly to the site under his own power (with his forcefield active) and scout it out with his supersenses.

Armor plans to be there in costume. He starts mulling over the possibilities, trying to deduce how things are likely to go down.

{OOC: Obviously, I want his best guess as to what's in store maybe half-an-hour from now -- so figure it's, what, a 9/9 OV/RV, first for himself and then -- if needed -- for each teammate he can give a reassuring pat on the shoulder? I know you prefer to roll 'em for stuff like this, but I'm thinkinbg of maybe spending HPs on the last possible try if nothing occurs to him on the first ones...}

Joe and Doc would be there in plain clothes designed to be as generic as possible. Costumes were for those who wanted to attract attention.

Before getting within two blocks of the scene, Armor plans to activate his remaining omni-gadgets -- setting them for Illusion, Telekinesis, and Power Reserve (Illusion, Telekinesis), since tricks may be more useful than brute force on this one.

The team responds quickly to the news cast of the drama in town, relatively speaking. Of all of them Wasp is the most cautious and even takes time to make sure her costume is ‘just-right.’ Armor is second to last in that while enroute, he takes some time to ready some gear plan. Chronos and Cross leave virtually at the same time but Cross being in the air arrives at a slightly different area than Chronos. The ex-agent for hire finds himself in the thick of it first.

Southern Cross lifts from the hotel grounds and arc away in the blink of an eye. The thirty mile trip could be done in less than a blink of an eye but he slows for a brief moment to take a tactical view of the playground ahead. Heightened vision surveys a block of burning buildings of which Hellers office is one. He begins to make out some bodies in the vicinity when his flight seems to fail and he plummets toward the earth in the direction of the burning row but long by several blocks. Chronos observes the flyer plummet to the earth loses sight of him in the skyline of buildings. The uncontrolled decent sends Cross into the 8th level of a 12 story building and through several of the internal walls until he finally launches out the opposite side. Slightly winded and bruised, with no visible damage, Cross lifts himself up and determines there is no hostiles near him as he stands in the middle of Dobson street. He did though, as he descended, spot a few Crinos Garou witnessing his fall. The last he saw they began running his direction and are likely only seconds away.

The air, shimmering slightly still around Southern Cross almost betrays the existence of a barrier about the hero. He is able to take a short tactical breath of determination and position himself before he spots one of the Garou a couple blocks away round the corner and advance. The second is only a few paces behind.

Chronos and Crumble arrive, likely trailing Cross but finds the row of burning buildings in his path. Undetected at the moment, Chronos is able to see at least 5 human bodies lying about, 2 in suits. The bodies of 2 canines are near which are significantly smaller than wolves, maybe the a tad smaller in build than a trained german shepherd.
Enroute, Chronos passed unnoticed through a security line of police about a mile behind him and noted that a man in a suit was barking orders. Here at the burning row of buildings are a few more suited men, similarly dressed to those met in Italy, likely Hellers men or from the same group. 2 of the suited men are reloading shotguns kneeling behind an overturned wreck of a car as a Raging Crinos Garou closes the 30 yard gap at a full run from across the street. A woman in leather on a rooftop behind the Garou draws a bead on the third suit with a high powered rifle and fires, nearly fully removing the mans head above his nose.

Chronos and Cross, declare actions and intent to cover the potential actions for 2 turns. I will resolve them and update the arrival of Armor and Wasp..

Note, Cross, you are worse for wear but with no game altering wounds save for pride. Your flight and speed powers are not responding at the moment.

Are my other powers still functioning? If my Heat Vision is still functioning,I will use it any Garou within line of sight, on the assumption that one of them has negated my movement abilities.

If my eyebeams aren't functioning,I will perform a Sweep attack on the Garou using the nearest long pole available.

Noting the comment on the sweep attack, I still need some more detail.
All other powers are working, you can just feel it. But please give me some other details, like will you try to keep distance from them if they close? at what point will you use Reserve? What will you do in melee?
